Major Enrollment Changes

E-mail Print PDF

Starting October 5th 2009, Greater Columbus Learning Center will switch from an "open entry open exit" style of enrollment to a session (or term) based enrollment system.  The new enrollment and class structure is expected to cultivate a more structured and consistent learning environment.  Sessions will last 10 - 12 weeks and clients who have not met their educational goals by the end of the session will be allowed to "rollover" to the next session without having to repeat the enrollment process.  Also, the attendance policy will change to reflect the changes with the enrollment process,  Students will be required to attend at least 60 hours of class time and will not be allowed to miss more than 5 days of class.  All aspects of this new process are subject to change so feel free to call our office with any questions.

Welcome

Greater Columbus Learning Center is a community based Adult Basic Education Center. We have multimedia instruction for adults including non-readers through college prep levels. Learners may choose from a variety of instruction to compliment their preferred learning style.

Through our multi-generational approach, GCLC insures that persons from all sectors of the community have an opportunity for continuing education. All programs are offered on an “open-entry-open-exit” basis, at no cost to the client. The average annual enrollment is 1,000 individuals.

The center provides the following programs:

  • Basic skills help (Reading, Math and Language)
  • Test Preparation for GED, ACT, ASVAB and AFOQT
